In the Beginning

The band formed in 2010 and had changed players in the first couple of years. Rick Riosa and Dom Tisci are the 2 remaining original members, with Nick Watson and Gareth Swarbrick coming on board about 18 months into the project. In late 2014 the band had a front person change, Loren “Gypsy” Doyle. It was like a hot humid afternoon and then someone opened the front door and the howling southerly wind came through and picked up this already tight and dynamic outfit and took it to the next level. The band enjoys regular gigs all over the eastern suburbs with a few functions thrown in for good measure. With songs from the 60’s right up to  current day material, the band mixes it with the best of them. With 4 vocalists up front, the variety and color of the music is seen and heard as you are taken on a retro trip back to the days of the Beatles, Steppenwolf and the Rolling Stones and then almost immediately brought back into the current day scheme of things with songs by Pink, Muse, Kings of Leon and Powder Finger.

Loren “Gyspy” Doyle

Singer

Gypsy, is a sassy Sydney based performer.   She took an interest in dancing and singing from a young age and has been performing in clubs and pubs for over 10 years. She has gradually developed her vocal, dance, personality and performance style from her experiences with RAD ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern dance and from singing in choirs to cabaret performances as well as covers and with originals bands.  In 2014 she auditioned for the Lost Boys and was welcomed with her powerhouse vocals, vivacious personality and classy incorporation of Burlesque into their act.

Rick Riosa

Drummer

Rick Riosa has been playing drums since 1986. He has played in various bands covering a wide genre of styles including blues, funk, rock and pop, both in original and covers outfits. Rick is one of the original members of Gypsy’s Lost Boys and has been associated with the band since 2010. Rick also plays in various other projects in both the original and  covers scene. His  influences are varied including Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young from the retro basket and Powder Finger and Foo Fighters from the more contemporary range, and  BB King, John Lee Hooker, and JJ Cale from the blues master class era.

Nick “Dr” Watson

Lead Guitar & Vocals

Having played guitar in a multitude of bands since a teenager, in all styles ranging from Rock and Metal to Jazz, Blues, World Fusion and Country.  Nick has performed in venues as diverse as Pubs and Clubs, Cruise Ships, 5 Star Hotels and Resorts and even the back of a truck. Using this wealth of experience, Nick is a seasoned performer and with this is able to add finesse to virtually any style of music.He regularly dazzles audiences with his virtuosic renditions of the classics like Sultans Of Swing, Black Magic Woman, and a rocked-up Baker Street.

Gareth Swarbrick

Bass Guitar & Vocals

Gareth began his musical career busking on the streets of Adelaide.  His music journey took him from clarinet, saxophone and acoustic guitar, till he finally found his calling - bass guitar. It also puts him at the back of the stage much of the time so as not to scare the punters too much. Influences (apart from psychedelic drugs) are just about everything, except for Justin Bieber, Celine Dion and Enya. He is currently saving up for bass lessons.

Domenic Tisci

Rhythm Guitar & Vocals

Dom has been playing guitar for over 20 years.  He brings a solid rhythm platform to the sound of the band and has a unique playing style that helps project a tight and powerful live sound.  Dom is a self proclaimed Beatles fanatic and cites them as a major influence although he can he rock it out with best of them on the Foo Fighters, ACDC and Green Day tunes.
